On October 6th, 2015 a group of Treasures (what we call the people from the communities who we serve) along with some of our staff went to Cambray 2 to deliver the donations they had collected and sorted. This is one of the ways in which the Treasures have succeeded in multiplying what God has sown in them.
On October 1st, 2015 a mudslide in one of Guatemala City’s nearby communities buried over 100 homes. More than 186 people lost their lives and hundreds are still missing. PHA grieves and mourns along with these families and prays for those who are still alive but burried under the mud and dirt.
During this hardship, the Treasures from the Community Center in the Garbage Dump are stepping out to share and give something for the families who are suffering because of this tragedy. We are grateful for the love and solidarity they have shown towards others. As a part of our work model (Develop, Empower, Multiply) we continue to challenge the Treasures to go, share and help others in need (Multiply).
Thank you for your continued prayers during this tragedy and for encouraging the Treasures in their process of transformation.
